November 24th lesson

November 3rd lesson

Dear students, Today you will finish your end-of-trimester presentations. Then you will have a short student-led activity by group one, and if there is any time left after that, continue studying about the nineties. Kind regards, Chris Elvin

October 27th presentations

Dear students, Today is your end-of-trimester final assignment. Please talk for a minimum of three minutes and a maximum of four minutes. (Ideally, everyone should present today, so this is why there is a rather strict time limit). There will be a computer already set up, so your should bring your presentation slides on a thumbstick for quick and easy access. You will be assessed for fluency (not reading, and speed of delivery), vocabulary (appropriacy and precision), grammar (range and accuracy), and pronunciation (clarity and naturalness). Your scores will be an estimate of your speaking score for an IELTS test. Please download the IELTS bandscale criterion scales for your reference. Good luck! Chris Elvin

September 22nd lesson

Dear students, Today you will carry on as usual with a student-led activity and if there is time study about the nineties. Everything in class seems to be going reasonably well, I think. How about you? Were your activities useful? Not so useful? Could any of them be done again or improved somehow? Please post your comments below. Kind regards, Chris Elvin

September 15th lesson

Dear students, Today you will have another student-led activity, and continue with the 1991 prints if there is time. Kind regards, Chris Elvin

September 8th lesson

Dear students, Today you will read your essay about 1990 in the groups that you were in last week. Then you will check the answers to the 1991 matching homework, and after that there will be a student-led activity. Kind regards, Chris Elvin
